Brick Pillars & Curved Wall Build (4-Pillar Masonry Project)

When a property needs a clean, strong entrance, details matter—and so does what’s under the masonry. For this project, our team at Potosino Stone, led by Alberto, built a solid, long-lasting structure made to look sharp and hold up for years: four masonry pillars with matching walls, all built on properly poured footers and finished with a full brick wrap and bluestone caps.

The Foundation Comes First (Footers + Rebar)

Before any block or brick went up, we started where every quality masonry job starts: the footers.
We excavated the trench layout, set our lines, and poured concrete footers reinforced with 1/2” rebar. This step is what keeps pillars from shifting over time and helps everything stay level and stable through seasons, moisture, and temperature changes.

The Build: 4 Pillars + Walls

This project includes four pillars total, built with a strong core and a clean exterior finish:

  • (2) Large pillars:5 ft tall x 32 in wide
    • Topped with 36” bluestone caps for a premium, finished look and extra protection.
  • (2) Smaller pillars: 3.5 ft tall x 32 in wide
  • Connecting walls: 2.5 ft tall to match the design and tie everything together.

Strong Core, Clean Finish

We built the structure using 8” x 16” concrete block as the main core—this gives the pillars and walls their strength and weight.
After the structure was built and checked for alignment, we wrapped everything in brick, giving it a classic look with a durable exterior finish.

Why This Matters

A lot of masonry work looks good at first—but the difference shows over time. This build was done the right way:

  • Reinforced footers for stability
  • Solid block construction for strength
  • Full brick wrap for durability and curb appeal
  • Bluestone caps for a high-end finish and added protection from weather

Professional Results You Can See

From the early trench and footer work to the finished curved brick wall and pillars, this project shows what we focus on every time: straight lines, strong structure, clean finish, and long-term durability. That’s the standard Alberto and the Potosino Stone team bring to every job.
